Ride Egypt Equestrian Adventures surpassed all my expectations . The moment we arrived at Cairo airport we were met by our driver who took us to our hotel .
Upon meeting Emma from Ride Egypt , she assessed our riding abilities and chose appropriate horses for us. Cantering through the desert on our horses and sharing the ride with the Pyramids and Sphinx was a once in a lifetime experience . I felt very safe on the horses chosen for me!
The city was busy yet charming like nothing I had ever seen . Riding my horse and sharing the streets with camels, Tuk Tuk, carriages and people was exhilarating to say the least. The people were warm welcoming and willing to please.
After a short flight to Aswan we joined a Nile River Cruise to Luxor. We hopped on and off the boat and visited many tombs and historic treasures .
In Luxor we met our new equine friends at Ride Egypt stable. I was matched with Sultan, a gorgeous Arabian horse, so well-trained and a delight to ride. The horses were healthy and strong and willing to please. Invited to Emma’s authentic Egyptian birthday party we got to experience delicious food, music, dancing, fireworks, and the warmth of our new friends. I danced like I never danced before at the best party I’ve ever been too.
We visited markets and tried delicious family style local food. We even got to see Luxor by air on a hot air balloon ride . Our guide Sabr went out of his way to cater to our every whim. He even cooked us a lovely meal at his home in Luxor.
Off to Hurghada for the last leg of our journey to swim with the horses in the Red Sea. My horse loved the water and we had a wonderful swim together. Another tick off the bucket list.
Overall this trip with Ride Egypt surpassed all my expectations . I never felt unsafe and the Egyptian people embraced us and were proud to share their culture with us. All the horses were healthy and well-trained and although I’m a timid rider I was matched with horses that complemented my riding ability and gave me confidence. A thumbs up to Emma and her wonderful staff, for organizing an amazing trip of lifetime for us – memories that I will never forget
