Luxor, Aswan & Abu Simbel
8 days, 7 nights – £2499 (based on 2 sharing)
Day 1: Arrival in Luxor
Arrive in Luxor, home of Ride Egypt, and check in for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Hot Air Balloon Ride over the Valley of the Kings. Sunset Trail Ride.
Kick off your adventure with a breathtaking hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings, offering a unique aerial perspective of the grand tombs of the Pharaohs and a stunning view of Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple.
After landing, we will enjoy breakfast before continuing to Luxor’s historical highlight: The Valley of the Kings! Historically, the west bank of the Nile, bathed in the setting sun, was seen as the home of the dead, while the east bank welcomed the morning light and symbolized life. The Valley of the Kings, Egypt’s largest pharaonic necropolis, may seem unassuming from the outside, with simple entryways carved into the rock, but stepping inside reveals some of the most well-preserved ancient artwork in existence.
Enjoy lunch at the hotel before heading on a personalized tour of our Luxor stables, where you’ll learn about the way we care for our horses- we will also show you a demonstrations on equipment, medical aid, and farming.
In the afternoon, set off on a sunset trail ride through local villages and along the Nile, a real opportunity to witness how the river brings abundance and fertility to the land around us.
We will return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Morning Ride with Lunch. Bedouin Dinner & Traditional Dance Show
After breakfast at the hotel, you will go on a four-hour ride through Luxor’s banana plantations and winding tracks. This is a fun ride with excellent variations of pace. We will stop for lunch and enjoy an afternoon of relaxation.
The evening features a Bedouin buffet dinner with live music and a traditional dance show.

Day 4: Free Morning & Sunset Trail Ride
Enjoy a free morning to relax before an early lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon, set off on a 4-5 hour sunset trail ride before an evening dining at a local restaurant on the Nile.

Day 5: Early Morning Saddle Day & Luxor’s Timeless Landmarks
Start the day with an early morning ride around Mount Thebes, with the Valley of the Kings as your breathtaking backdrop. As the sun rises over the desert, hot air balloons float overhead, painting the sky with their colorful reflections. Enjoy a local breakfast stop before continuing your ride past the Colossi of Memnon — two gigantic statues of Amenophis III, built over 3,400 years ago and standing 18 meters (60 feet) tall. These impressive monuments once guarded his funerary temple on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor, completed around 1350 BC.
In the afternoon, you will go on a non-riding guided visit to Karnak Temple, Egypt’s largest temple complex. Ten cathedrals could be stuffed inside the space, which covers more than 2 sq km and contains multiple temples, timeworn houses and a sacred pool for offerings and sacrifices. Karnak was built, modified, and expanded over 1,500 years by 30 pharaohs. Strolling through its vast halls and sacred pools, you’ll uncover whispers of ancient times.
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6: Journey to Aswan via Esna
After breakfast, we will depart by road to Aswan, stopping for lunch and exploring Edfu Temple, one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples, dedicated to the sun god Horus. We will continue to Kom Ombo, Egypt’s only double temple, dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. Nile crocodiles would freely roam the temple grounds and were mummified when they died. More than 300 croc mummies have been unearthed around the premises and are now on display at the Crocodile Museum.
Upon arrival in Aswan, board a traditional felucca boat at Elephantine Island—your home for the next two days. These boats have sailed the Nile for centuries, making this experience a true highlight of the trip. Relax on the sundeck and enjoy the stunning views. Dinner and overnight will be onboard in personal cabins.
Day 7: Abu Simbel & Nile Sailing
After breakfast, we will drive to Abu Simbel (approx. 3 hours from Aswan) to explore some of Egypt’s most impressive and unique temples. Overlooking Lake Nasser, we will visit the Great Temple of Ramses II, which was carved out of the mountain on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 BC. This imposing main temple of the Abu Simbel complex was dedicated not only to the deified Ramses II himself but also to Ra-Horakhty, Amun, and Ptah. The four colossal statues of the pharaoh, which stand in front of the temple like gigantic sentinels, are over 30 meters tall.
From the temple’s forecourt, a short flight of steps leads up to the terrace in front of the massive rock-cut facade. Guarding the entrance, three of the four famous colossal statues gaze across the water into eternity.
Next door, the smaller yet highly impressive Temple of Hathor features a rock-cut facade adorned with six 10-meter-high standing statues of Ramses II and Nefertari. Inside, the six pillars of the hypostyle hall are crowned with capitals shaped like the sacred cow ears of Hathor. The artwork here is soft and graceful, reflecting the temple’s dedication to the goddess of love and beauty.
On our return to Aswan after the Abu Simbel tour, we will make the most of the remaining daylight hours. We’ll unmoor our boat, raise the sails, and enjoy a late-afternoon sailing the Nile.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 8: Aswan’s Last Wonders & Departure
No trip to Aswan is complete without a guided visit to The High Dam, one of the world’s largest dams. One of the most interesting features of the Aswan Dam is its use of ancient Egyptian architecture.
Our final stop, Philae Temple, built in 690 BC to honor Isis, the goddess of healing and magic. As one of the last temples constructed in the classical Egyptian style, Philae has a complex and fascinating history.
After lunch, check out and transfer to Aswan’s local airport for departure.
